"No one's ever really gone" is the tag line at the end of the Star Wars - Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker teaser. Luke can be heard saying "We'll always be with you. No one's really gone."
Is Luke really saying these words to Rey? If so, is it a flash back moment, or is it Force ghost Luke? Or is it just trailer marketing?
This phrase was said by Luke to Leia in The Last Jedi. In the old and abandonned rebel base on the mineral planet Crait, Luke and Leia have a very emotional reunion.
Leia says "I held out hope for so long, but... I know my son is gone", refering to Ben Solo who had completly turned into Kylo Ren after killing his father Han Solo.
Luke replies "No one's ever really gone" and then he gives Han's lucky dice to Leia.
